Çağlar Tağcı’s interest in painting began when he was a young child, when he first became fascinated with the notion of outer space.
Çağlar Tağcı’s interest in painting began when he was a young child, when he first became fascinated with the notion of outer space. His work deals with the subjects of universe and creation in his paintings, using geometric shapes to creates abstract surfaces in a disciplined and clean way.
Fully in control of the apparent randomness of his splatters, he creates dynamic colour explosions with bold brush strokes, dripping and splashing techniques. Constructing the regular and irregular structure of the universe in his mind, the artist creates his own rich and dynamic universe in his paintings, reminiscent of nebulae, cosmic explosions and the birth of stars.
Tağcı completed his painting education at Denizli Günaydın Art Workshop in 2014, continuing to work as an instructor there for a while. He held his first solo exhibition “First Meeting” in 2016, and opened his own art workshop in Denizli in 2017. A second solo exhibition, “Cosmos”, followed in 2019. In 2021, his artworks were held in an exhibition at the Gama Gallery for an exhibition he named “Infinity”. Additionally, he has participated in over 20 group exhibitions and won first prize in SAKÜDER’s 15th painting competition.
