Miart Gallery London is on the lookout for an experienced Gallery Manager to spearhead operations at our gallery on St. James’s Street in Mayfair. Collaborating closely with our  Gallery Director, you'll be at the forefront of driving sales growth, curating exquisite artworks, and delivering unparalleled customer experiences.
As one of London's premier private galleries, we've secured a spot in the top ten galleries , proudly standing as a beacon of artistic excellence. We're not stopping there – our network of contemporary art galleries is expanding, with a core mission to democratize access to stunning artworks.

About the Role 
  • Reporting directly to the Gallery Director, you will be responsible for building, developing and motivating your team.
  • Be the main point of contact for our clients, sharing your passion for the fantastic range of artwork we offer, identifying opportunities to develop further business through use of the client database, local business links and intelligent marketing
  • Provide a personable and unique service to our clients, always going above and beyond, providing an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Book and carry out consultation appointments both at the gallery and in clients’ homes and offices
  • Be comfortable selling luxury items that can range from £5000 to £150,000 and have the ability to communicate and sell to customers of all levels and backgrounds
  • Keep abreast of artist facts, art & interior trends, and what is happening within the wider art industry so that you can confidently talk to our clients about art investment opportunities
  • Organize and host exclusive artist events and exhibitions 
We are looking for someone to join us full time, working 5 days over a 6-day working pattern on a rota basis. We host events and exhibitions outside of normal hours so it’s important to be flexible.
Essential Skills:
  • Experienced in high management positions or gallery management.
  • Strong commercial awareness of the luxury world and market trends.
  • Proven track record in client relationship building.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Artsy, Mailchimp and Artlogic CRM.
  • Well-organized and adapting.
  • Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures.
  • Knowledgeable on customs procedures.
  • Experienced in artist research and expanding customer database.
  • Familiarity with art fairs such as London Art Fair, FRIEZE, etc. 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative sales strategies to exceed targets.
  • Cultivate a strong client network through rapport-building.
  • Provide comprehensive weekly sales reports.
  • Utilize lead generation techniques for new clients.
  • Foster long-term client relationships and expand the customer base.
  • Prioritize client-facing interactions.
  • You will mostly work weekdays, with some weekends (in lieu of weekdays), so you’ll need to be flexible.
  • You’ll be able to drive when needed (either your car or a company zipcar), and be able to get to the gallery with less than an hour of commute time. 
Gallery Strategy & Management:
  • Oversee daily gallery operations.
  • Curate a diverse art collection.
  • Promote and advertise exhibitions and events.
  • Foster relationships with artists.
  • Coordinate artwork transportation.
  • Provide briefings to staff for engaging visitor experiences.
  • Expand the client list through outreach.
  • Maintain thorough cataloguing and website updates.
  • Handle gallery administrative duties.
