Cengiz Yatagan is a Turkish artist whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. In both his life and his art, Yatagan listens to his inner voice. He describes his artistic process as being guided by the connection between senses and logic, as well as the search for materials that reflect his spirituality and inner world. His abstract works are created using resin on canvas or metal.


Yatağan was born in Turkey in 1968. He grew up and studied in Istanbul, specialising in the Textile, IT and Construction sectors. In addition to hotel and university construction, Yatağan also works on renovations and hotel management. Yatağan utilises the logic championed in the IT and Construction fields and combines the logic he uses in these fields with the senses in his artistic practice. He also places emphasis on the materials used to create his artworks, with a desire to choose materials that reflect his spirituality and inner world. Cengiz Yatağan creates abstract works are created using resin on canvas or metal. After completing his education, Yatağan lived in Australia for two years and began working there. Yatağan has always been fascinated by art throughout his life and alongside his other profession, he continues to work at his workshop in Beyoğlu.
