Beyond Borders: Beyond Borders carries a dual definition. The exhibit showcases the works of emerging artists who extend from beyond the borders of the UK, but also surpass the borders of what we understand contemporary modern art to be.

10 February - 9 April 2022

Miart Gallery London is pleased to present Beyond Borders, a collective exhibition that will feature 7 fascinating emerging artists for their first exhibition in London: Ardan Ozmenoglu, Beata Dencikowska, Dariusz Dencikowski, Ece Abay Kerci, Ece Guvenc Erdinc, Emre Namyeter, Kadir Akyol. A celebration of the diversity of the contemporary visual arts and artists, the exhibition will run from February 15th to March 24th, 2022.

Beyond Borders is a manifestation of the gallery's commitment to uniting the East and West and fostering discourse between mediums, artistic styles and expressions, temporalities and cultures.

Beyond Borders highlights the identity of the gallery, one which unites East and West
and fosters discourse between mediums, artistic styles and expressions, temporalities
and cultures. This exhibition not only complements and celebrates the creative selection of the gallery but also the selection of emerging contemporary artists being showcased.

The Beyond Border’s exhibit includes the work of Kadir Akyol and Ardan Ozmenoglu, emerging Turkish artists, who borrow images from historical contexts and set universal standards of individuality and collective visual memory. Akyol’s canvases allude to elements of popular culture, traditional life, popular and modern painting, lyricism, and irony, which all combine in dynamic harmony. By combining self-elected images from varying historical periods and cultural connections, with a dissimilar original dialect, he achieves extraordinary artistic richness and an innovative contemporary impact.
