Lars Beusker: celebrated for his piercing black-and-white wildlife portraits, brings a fresh gaze to the exhibition, shaped by a journey from high-fashion photography to the raw landscapes of Africa. With a 200mm telephoto lens, he closes in on his subjects, capturing the essence of wildlife with an intimacy and precision that echoes the detail of painters like Jan van Eyck. In some frames, you may catch his reflection within the gaze of an animal, acting as a quiet testament to the nearness he gets. By removing color, Beusker invites us to see beyond the immediate emotion, focusing on the unfiltered beauty and individuality of each creature in its natural habitat. His work transforms observation into encounter, stripping the scene down to pure form and spirit.

Giusy Rampini:  a celebrated artist known for her wildlife paintings, brings a painterly sensitivity to her exploration of African wildlife. Originally trained as a fashion designer, Rampini transitioned into fine art, studying under the renowned painter Adriano Grasso Caprioli and at prestigious institutions like the IL BISONTE international engraving school in Florence. Her unique, minimalistic approach immerses the audience in lush, layered worlds that feel almost otherworldly. Rampini isolates her animal subjects from their natural environments, capturing not only their physical form but also the spirit and energy that animates each creature. Rampini’s work goes beyond mere representation; it invites us into a quiet dialogue with the untamed, where color, texture and movement converge to evoke a profound sense of connection. Her paintings don’t just depict animals, they invite us to feel their presence, to pause and consider the lives that pulse alongside our own.

Miart Gallery invites you to into an intimate portrait of the animal kingdom, seen through the eyes of two distinct artists: Giusy Rampini and Lars Beusker. Here, wildlife isn’t simply observed; it is encountered, laid bare in intensity. Rampini’s paintings and Beusker’s photographs bring forth the spirit of creatures rarely glimpsed and even more rarely understood. This isn't just about animals but it's about the instinctual and untamed, about glimpses of a world as vivid as it is haunting. An experience both timeless and immediate, echoing the silent, ancient pulse of nature itself.
